BUCOVINA - A TRAVEL NOTES TO ROMANIA´S REGION OF PAINTED MONASTERIES

The images shown in the DVD do not pretend to be an exhaustive source of information on Bucovina. It is the result of a journey, undertaken between 1998 and 2000, during the restoration of the Probota Monastery. Its purpose is to introduce the Bucovina Travel Guide and to give an idea of the people and the monuments of that wonderful region.

Countries like Romania change a little every day. Those who live in them note these changes in a perfunctory manner, regretting the disappearance of important cultural landmarks, and lauding the appearance of others. Perhaps, the most significance change is not well noted, and this is the increase in foreign visitors even in remote countryside villages. They come from every corner of the world and their presence recalls the earlier centuries when Moldavia was a busy crossroads. We wish these, and any future visitors, an enjoyable stay in the Region of the Painted Monasteries.

E´ il risultato di un percorso, intrapreso tra il 1998 e il 2000, durante il restauro del Monastero di Probota. Il suo scopo è quello di introdurre la Guida e dare un'idea delle persone e dei monumenti di questa meravigliosa regione.

Paesi come la Romania cambiano un pò ogni giorno, coloro che vivono li notano questi cambiamenti in modo superficiale, rimpiangendo la scomparsa di importanti punti di riferimento culturali. Forse, il cambiamento più significativo non è ben noto, e questo è dovuto all'aumento dei visitatori stranieri anche in remoti villaggi di campagna. Provengono da ogni angolo del mondo e la loro presenza ricorda i secoli precedenti, quando la Moldavia era un crocevia di popoli..
